My name is Ms. Burley, & I am the Learning Support Teacher (LST) & Director of Student Support at SBCA. I implement the I.E.P. and 504 Plans for students who have been identified as needing one to one or small group differentiated instruction.
I am originally from Columbus Ohio & moved to Mass to pursue my B.A. in Psychology from UMass/Boston. I also have M.Ed. in Moderate Special Needs from Boston College.
I have over 20 years of professional teaching experience in the great state of Massachusetts. I had the pleasure of teaching in several urban school districts from grade K1- to high school before embarking on my teaching experience in a parochial school. I have 3 licenses in professional status with the DESE:
Early Childhood (N-3)
Elementary (1-6)
Moderate Special Needs (N-9)
I hold in my heart the belief & determination that all children can learn & become productive members of society, all they need is one teacher that believes in them. All children despite any socio-economic, cultural background, can learn with guidance & support. This is my 2nd year at SBCA and I look forward to many more years working with the children & families of South Boston.
Ms. Burley, M.Ed. Director of Student Support
